These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Placefolio and related services (collectively, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal and household inventory tracking in accordance with these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for unlawful activities.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or bypass security controls.
- Interfere with the operation of the App or related infrastructure.
Offline-first design and your responsibility
Placefolio is designed to store data locally on your devices. You are responsible for maintaining backups and exports if you want the ability to restore your data after device loss, failure, or uninstall.
Optional cloud backup
On Android, you may link a Google account so Placefolio can automatically upload ZIP exports to a Drive folder you designate. On iOS, you may use iCloud backup. Placefolio stores required backup credentials on your device only for these uploads and does not transmit them to our servers or use them for any other purpose. You remain responsible for the security of your linked platform account and for revoking access if you stop using the feature.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App.
Payments
App purchases are processed through the applicable platform storefront (e.g., Google Play, Apple App Store, or Microsoft Store). Your payment relationship for those purchases is with the storefront provider. Refunds and billing issues are handled under that provider's policies.
Physical product purchases made through the Placefolio Shop page are processed through a PayPal-hosted checkout. Your payment relationship for those orders is with PayPal for payment processing, and we receive the order details needed to fulfill the purchase.
Shop orders
Physical products listed in the Shop are subject to availability. We may update product descriptions, prices, or availability at any time, and we may cancel an order before shipment if a product becomes unavailable or if an order cannot be fulfilled. If we cancel an order after payment authorization, we will issue a refund through the original payment method where applicable.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if required to comply with law or to protect the integrity of the App. You may stop using the App at any time.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
